Russia, Argentina ink strategic partnership
Russia and Argentina have signed 20 agreements in various fields, in particular energy sector.
Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner in the Russian capital Moscow.
During the talks held at Kremlin, economic and trade relations were high on the agenda.
Putin and Kirchner have signed strategic partnership declaration within the scope of the 130th anniversary of the relations between Moscow and Buenos Aires, established on October 22, 1885.
According to the deal, both countries will boost their energy supplies and will use their national currencies in mutual trade settlements.
The 5 Billion Dollar agreement envisages Russia's Gazprom will explore oil and gas fields in Argentina.
Meanwhile, Russia’s global leader in nuclear power Rosatom will construct 6 nuclear power plants in Argentina.
Russia and Argentina also agreed to cooperate in the projects for UN and G20.
